Rodding is a sewer cleaning method which uses a rodding machine to rotate sectional rods (or continuous rod) connected to a tool to break up grease deposits, cut roots, and loosen debris. Rodding is most effective in lines up to 12″ in diameter. When compared to jetting, rodding is more environmentally friendly because it does not need a water source to operate.
